PorscheCan’t afford that shiny new Porsche? You can settle for the laptop, at least.

That’s correct. Porsche Design has a laptop that they recently unveiled, giving it the name “Porsche Design Book One.”

It’s also supposed to compete with Microsoft’s Surface Book Pro.

I know what you all are thinking, so I will just go ahead and say it.  The price tag is 2,495. It’s actually a little less expensive than the Surface Book, which currently retails for $2,699.

So what are the specs? Who wins the battle between these two competitors?

Weight : The Surface Book wins here, weighing in at 3.63 lbs, versus the Porsche Design Book One’s 3.77 lbs.

Hinge Mechanism – The Book One is the only 360 degree laptop that also offers a detachable display at this moment. Some people are also taking a small issue with the Surface Book , since some people don’t like the way it bends, leaving unnecessary space.

Operating System : Both systems run on Windows 10 Pro.

CPU : The Book One takes the cake here : Intel 7th-Gen Kaby Lake i7-7500U (2.7 GHz, up to 3.5GHz). The Surface Book has an Intel 6th-Gen Skylake (2.6 GHz, up to 3.4 GHz)

RAM : Both devices contain 16GB. Tie!

Storage : Another tie! Both contain a 512GB SSD by default.

Graphics : The Surface Book edges out the Book One by a large margin here. Microsoft’s flagship convertible has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M, versus the Book One’s Intel integrated HD Graphics 620 chip.

Display : Porsche Design Book One has a 16:9, 13.3″ QHD (3200×1800) display with Gorilla Glass 4, versus the Surface Book’s 13.5″ Pixelsense IPS display (3000×2000) with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Both screens contain 10-point multi-touch.

Pens : Yes, the Book One comes with a pen, too! The only practical difference – the Book One has 2,048 levels of pressure, versus 1,024 on the Surface Book.
